Some times I feel really sorry for people who don’t watch cartoons just because they’re cartoons, or read comics just because they’re comics. When I was a kid I was afraid to grow up because I thought one day I’d just stop liking stuff like cartoons and comic books, and only watch sports, the news, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and The Heat of the Night (that’s what my dad watched). As I got older it was a huge relief to me realize that this was not at all true.
When I was watching Legend of Korra I kept thinking to myself that I bet there are a lot of adults who’d get into this show if they could get past the fact that it’s animated, because it was just as well-written as most adult tv dramas I feel. I also remember for years trying to convince people that they should read The Walking Dead even if they’ve never read a comic in their life, to no avail, but then it comes out as a tv show and those same people love it (but still aren’t interested in reading it as a comic).
I just feel sorry for them is all, because they miss out on things they might enjoy because it’s in a medium they think is for kids or nerds or whatever.
