Daily Music Post #100

Daft Punk - Robot Rock

Daily music post 100! Figured the 100th post should be something cool, and what’s cooler than Daft Punk? The only correct answer to that is “Nothing!” They’re sweet looking robots who wear embroidered leather jackets and make the most danceable music ever created. It’s one of my dreams to own a Guy-Manuel helmet. Also as far as I’m concerned my life will not be complete until I see them live.

Around the World - I remember seeing this video for the first time in the late 90’s late night on MTV when they’d play a block of obscure artist videos, and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Back then you couldn’t just google something and download an mp3 or pull up a youtube video, I only got to hear this song when they played the video. So I’d stay up late to watch music videos every night hoping they’d play it, and some times they would and some times they wouldn’t. It would always be a disappointment when they didn’t. Fun fact: The music video is directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

Da Funk - When I want to listen to something in my ipod and imagine that I’m a totally sweet badass, this is definitely a go-to track.

Robot Rock/Oh Yeah (live) - Just when I thought I couldn’t dig Daft Punk anymore than I already did, they released Alive, a live album, and it totally blew my mind. I get goosebumps every time this song breaks down.

Daft Punk, unequivocally the coolest band ever.
