Hello tumblr. I was going to draw answers to your questions tonight, but I have a headache. Boo-urns. You guys gave me some questions that are going to take me some actual effort to draw the answers to, darn you. Why couldn’t you ask something easy like “Hey stray, what’s your favorite shape?” So to have some art-filler on my blog for the night I thought maybe you’d like to see a step by step of this exploding head gif I made. One of the things about animation is that the frames go by so fast that you don’t get to appreciate the individual drawings. Not that these drawings are so great, but I think they’re kinda funny and made me laugh while I drew them. Exploding my own head gave me a sick sense of glee.
you can click on them to make them bigger.

:)
Hope that was at least moderately interesting to you.

One of the weird things about making this gif, is that when you animate or even draw something, it requires you to act it out or at least try to get in the same mindspace of the person you’re drawing. So it was really bizarre sitting there and thinking about the wave of emotions I’d exprience in a moment if my head exploded without warning. You can see at first I’m just happy and aloof, then I squint because there’s a faint pain in my head, and then my face really scrunches up and I open my mouth to yell when the pain starts to feel really sharp, and then suddenly my eyes open wide in panic because I can feel the inside of my head expanding and I know I’m dead, and then kerplop.
Then I give a thumbs up because head explosions are always pretty awesome.
