So, I was a huge fan of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers growing up, as I’m sure a lot of you similarly aged American folk were. There wasn’t really anything like it right? A live-action martial arts superhero alien monster giant robots show? Whaaaat? I still watch some of the current incarnations of the show. Since I was a kid I wanted to do my own version. I did some rough sketches for a comic I want to do in the future. I want to do Power Rangers but like… badass, with giant disembowled monster carcasses rotting in the middle of a city and innocent civilians being eaten alive and stuff like that, you know? I think it’d be fun.

I need to practice drawing girls, I kinda suck at that.

I forgot about this too, maybe I’ll revisit it.

WIP. Almost forgot about this. Did a little more to it. Not finished obviously. I’m not that happy with the composition, but I guess that’s what happens when you draw things separately in your sketchbook and then later decide to copy and paste them together. Not going to change it though.

Maybe I’ll finish this on the weekend.

This is the darkest timeline

It always churns my stomach to see someone’s creation taken away from them. It’s one of my biggest fears as an artist and aspiring creator of things, to pour my heart and soul into something I’ve brought into being, and then ultimately be excluded from it.

Cruel. Cruel cruel cruel.

Marvel’s already hired someone to work on a Black Panther script, so at some point there will hopefully be a Black Panther movie. I’m pretty excited about that prospect, he’s one of my favorite Marvel characters.

So I tried to draw what he could maybe look like in a film. It’s kinda not really my forte but I gave it my best shot. Wakanda is really technologically advanced and BP is a genius and he also utilizes stealth and agility, so I tried to give him a high-tech ninja sort of look. I imagine he wears a helmet that has night vision, infrared, and other useful display modes. Gave him little ninja shoes too, cause those are cool.

As for actors, in my mind the perfect candidate is Chiwetel Ejiofor

Watch him in Red Dust to hear his accent as he plays a South African politician.

Watch him in Serenity as a stoic highly skilled deadly sword-weilding assassin.

Watch him in Redbelt as a noble jiu-jitsu expert who fights for honor.

Watch him in just about anything he’s been in to see him be a brilliant actor. He just has a distinguished charm to him that seems very regal to me. He’s worked with Joss Whedon too, so I’m just going to cross my fingers.
